There is no reference sample for the motors that meet IE3 index in China, but only NEMA super series, and a few manufacturers are making them. Therefore, on this basis, the domestic motors that meet IE3 requirements are developed, named YE3 series super motors, and this work ended in 2013. The later revision of GB/T18613-2012 takes IE2 as the basic energy efficiency limit value, that is, level 3 energy efficiency index, and IE3 as the energy saving evaluation value, that is, level 2 energy efficiency index. That means that YX3 series motors can reach the new level 3 energy efficiency index with a little adjustment, while YE2 is originally designed according to IE2 requirements. In the new standard, although YX3 index value is slightly higher than that of YE2 motor, the detection method is different, and its performance is similar to that of YE2 motor in many specifications, all of which belong to the new level 3 energy efficiency.
